Spanish is always boring, or a disaster. In my case, it was the second option.
The day started off pretty usual. It was a spring day, but our science teacher, Mr. Mac, left the window open all night. As it was the first class in the morning, we were all freezing. I sat in my regular spot and waited for the lesson to start. Mr. Mac kept talking about verbs. I rolled my eyes, "He just had to choose the most boring thing to talk about that morning". He asked one of the girls to clean the board, and she went to get some cleaning supplies while he droned on. "Why can't all languages be as simple as English?" I thought as I tried to finish writing a song. "Can you believe it's all but gone?" I wrote as I put the paper away. "At this rate, I'll have an album written by June" I smiled proudly, and looked up just to make sure Mr. Mac thought I was paying attention. It worked, but nobody suspects the girl in the front scribbling furiously in her notebook. Mr. Mac laughed, "Now that our lessons done, we're going to have some free time. I know how boring verbs are in Spanish, and you've been working hard." Everybody cheered. Mr. Mac knows that most of us didn't choose to be in his Spanish class instead of Special Projects, the fun class where people choose their own assignments. (I would've chosen to write songs for an hour, but I do that anyway.) I looked up and realized that this time the cleaning supplies worked. "Must be stronger than usual," I thought, and bent down to write another lyric. I was starting the chorus of this new song, when I felt a cool liquid on my face. This guy in my class, who's picked on me since kindergarten, was holding a green spray bottle. "Ouch!" I screamed. It hurt, he got it right in my eyes. Mr. Mac looked up at my idiot classmate laughing. What was that for? He called an ambulance and started yelling, "YOU IDIOT! THAT WAS CHEMICALS!" And, of course, my stupid classmate just shrugged. He didn't even care. The last thing I ever saw was the inside of an ambulance. |
